Tour Itinerary

 

Day 01: International Arrival – Transfer in Lima.
Contact with agent and private transfer from the airport to the hotel.
Accomodation.

Day 02: Lima – Colonial city
Free morning to rest or personal activities.
14:15 pm. Shared tour to the capital; walking through its traditional neighborhoods, streets, Plaza Mayor and also enjoying its beautiful Cathedral. We will also visit the Convent and museum of San Francisco, one of the most interesting churches of Lima’s colonial era. We will have an included tour inside the convent and we will also descend into the catacombs, which were dug from 1546 onwards as a burial ground for priest and others.
Return to the hotel.

Day 03: Lima – Pisco – Paracas N.R.
Breakfast early morning and transfer to the main bus station to take the public bus, class Vip, from Lima to the town of Paracas. After about 4 hours of driving you will arrive in Paracas, contact with your agent and transfer to your Hotel.
About 11:00 AM Excursion to “Paracas National Reserve“,where in an area of 335,000 hectares one may observe different eco-systems, the archeological remains of the Paracas culture and an incredible diversity of marine life.
Return to the hotel.

Day 04: Ballestas islands – Huacachina Oasis – Transfer to Nazca city.
Breakfast. Transfer to Pisco harbor, where we will board our launch to the Ballestas Islands. The islands are also called the “Peruvian Galapagos” because here visitors can observe a diversity of migrant birds, Humboldt penguins, and sea lions in their natural habitat.

After the excursion we will continue in a private transportation to Nazca city. En route to Nazca we’ll make a couple of stops to visit a traditional vineyard where wine and Peru’s national beverage Pisco, are produced and spend time enjoying the dunes and desert areas of Oasis the “Huacachina”.
Arrive in Nazca city late afternoon. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 05: Nazca Lines flight – Chauchilla cemetery Tour – Bus to Arequipa city.
Today we will skip breakfast (we can enjoy it after our flight) and drive to the local airport to take the flight (30 minutes) over the enigmatic Nazca lines that until today are considered one of the world’s biggest mysteries. You will observe huge geometric figures such as “the monkey”, “the spider”, “the fish”, “the hand” and others, which are only possible to be seen from the air and show us that in this region a very high civilization developed.
Return to the Hotel and free time for personal activities. (We recommend to visit the Marie Reiche Museum)
In the afternoon we will have an excursion to the pre-Inca Chauchilla Cemetery, located 28 kilometers from downtown Nazca.
At night we will take an overnight bus (special service) to the city of Arequipa.

Day 06: Arequipa – City Tour.
We will arrive early in the morning to Arequipa city, declared a World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO in December 2000. A beautiful colonial city that is also known as the “White City” because of the use of “Sillar”, a white volcanic stone that is used in the construction of the homes and buildings, and give the city its special character. Contact in Bus terminal and transfer to the hotel.

In the afternoon we will take a Walking City Tour, exploring the streets, enjoying its Main Square, Cathedral and Churches, colonial buildings. The tour will end at entrance of the Monastery Santa Catalina where if you want, you can have a “visit to the past”, exploring for yourself this incredible monument. (The Monastery provided its own guides)

Day 07: Arequipa – Excursion to the Colca Canyon 2 days program.
Breakfast. Today we will visit one of the deepest canyons of the world; The Colca Canyon. It is also well known because of its beautiful multicolor terraces and its cultural and traditional heritage.
We will arrive to the town of Chivay, capital of Caylloma province and then continue to our Lodge, La Casa de Mamayacchi 3*.
Lunch buffet at the Lodge (included in program).
Around 3:00p.m we will do a short hike to San Antonio hill, visiting a pre-Inca cemetery and appreciating the view of the terraces. We return to our hotel to grab some towels & change into our swimwear before visiting the thermal baths of Coporaque, natural hot springs.
Dinner in Lodge.

Day 08: View point Cruz del Cóndor – Town of Chivay – Puno city on Lake Titicaca.
We will have our breakfast very early in the morning and leave to the famous “Cruz del Condor” point. On place we will have time enough to enjoy the view of the deep Canyon and if the weather permits; majestic pictures of the flight of the Condors. After this experience your guide will take you for a short walk near the Canyon (1 hour aprox.)
On the way back to Chivay we’re going to visit the traditional village of Pinchollo and the “Antahuilque viewpoint”, where wonderful 1,500 year old terraces, constructed by the Collaguas, a culture well before the Incas’ time, can be observed. We also will make a stop at the look-out point of “Choquetico” with its hanging tombs “Tumbas colgantes“ and visits the town of Maca and Yanque.
Upon our return to Chivay we will have lunch at a local restaurant and then keep the program driving to the city of Puno on Lake Titicaca. On the route we will have some stops for pictures and enjoying the geographic change of the area getting close to Puno and altiplano (Highland).
Arrival to Puno on lake Titicaca in the evening and transfer to your Hotel.

Day 09: Puno – Lake Titicaca – Uros Floating Islands – Taquile island.
Breakfast. Transfer to the lake port in order to board the launch for our full day excursion on Lake Titicaca and its islands.
In this excursion we will visit the Uros floating islands, built using the “Totora” reeds with long leaves that grow in the lake and the traditional Taquile Island, one of the most prosperous island on the lake because its tourism administration is managed by its own people.
Lunch in a traditional restaurant.
Return to Puno city and transfer to the hotel.

Day 10: Puno – Pukara town- La Raya highest point – Sicuani town – Raqchi tempel – Andahualillas Church – Cusco Imperial city.
Breakfast. Transfer to the Bus station to take our tourist bus from Puno to the imperial city of Cusco.
On route to Cusco we will visit the towns of Pukara and its interesting Museum, make a stop at La Raya (4,335 meters) which has a spectacular view of the Andes, a visit to Wiracocha temple “Raqchi” and the colorfull Andahuaylillas church. (*Entrance fees to these attractions are not included in the program – optional).
Lunch buffet will be provided in town of Sicuani.
We arrive in Cusco late afternoon. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 11: Cusco City Tour and Surrounding Area (half day tour).
Breakfast. 10:00AM Excursion through the City of Cusco and surrounding areas. Here we will visit Cusco’s Main Square, its Cathedral, Temple of the Sun also called “Koricancha”, and then the ruins located around the city; Kenko temple, Tambomachay temple, Puca Pucara temple and the incredible fort of Sacsayhuaman, located at the top of a hill dominating the City.
Return to the hotel. Afternoon free to relax or keep enjoying the city.

Day 12: Cusco – Sacred Valley –Pisac Ruins and Indigenous market – Ollantaytambo. (Full day excursion).
Breakfast. Visit one of the most beautiful places and major center’s of agricultural production of the Incas, the “Sacred Valley”. Here we will enjoy the beauty of its terraces and the blessing brought from the Urubamba River to the people. In the tour we will drive through the different towns dotted along the Valley, visiting the ruins of „Pisac“, with its panoramic view and its Indigenous market with original products made by the villagers.
We will have a lunch buffet in a traditional restaurant.
After lunch, we will visit the impressive fortress and plaza of Ollantaytambo.
Our transportation will leave you in your hotel located in the Valley.

Day 13: from Ollantaytambo – Machupicchu citadel.
Breakfast. Transfer to the train station to take our full day excursion to Machupicchu,
The lost city of the Incas is a breath taking monument declared a World Human Heritage site by UNESCO, and without a doubt, one of the most important archeological centers in the world.
The city is made up of single buildings arranged in groups, along streets, adjacent to plazas and terraces. Most of the buildings were residences, some of white granite masonry such as that seen in the city of Cuzco. Some of the buildings, which must have been for special purposes, are partly carved into the bedrock and partly built from finely cut white granite.
Due to its impressive buildings and gorgeous natural surroundings, Machu Picchu is also considered among the seven “wonders of the world”.
In the afternoon we will return by train to Cusco city
Arrive Cusco Poroy station and transfer to the hotel.

Day 14: Cusco – Transfer out.
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your next destination.
