Si tienes un día adicional en el valle del Colca, y te gusta caminar y explorar, este destino es sin duda “Imperdible“. La Fortaleza de Chimpa  ofrece una vista única del valle del Colca; desde aquí  se puede admirar ambos lados del cañón en un entorno pacífico y privilegiado. El lugar fue una instalación militar estratégicamente ubicada y elaborada en piedra por los pobladores de la cultura Collagua (Pre-Inca) y requiere de una condición física moderada.

Escenario Natural

Desde la parte superior de la fortaleza se podrá disfrutar de una vista increíble del cañón con sus terrazas, desfiladeros, y en toda la ruta, su hermosa y peculiar flora andina. Tendremos tiempo de caminar y explorar caminando por las áreas de la fortaleza y por supuesto, hacer todas las fotos posibles.

Esta actividad toma aproximadamente 6 horas y el camino de subida a la colina fue diseñado con opciones de descanso en algunos lugares en caso de necesidad.  Se requiere de una condición física moderada y se recomienda salir a la zona de Magridal muy temprano por la mañana (El distrito de Madrigal está ubicado en la margen derecha del Valle del Colca).

En el retorno se visita el pueblo de Madrigal y el pueblo de Lari con su bella iglesia, uno de los templos más espectaculares del valle del Colca.

La Fortaleza de Chimpa es sin duda un destino fascinante y diferente en el maravilloso valle del Colca!

    We had a fun and educational private Colca Valley tour and road trips with Ramiro (guide) and Herbert (driver) from Giardino Tours. They picked us up from the Arequipa airport, took us to our accommodations at Colca Lodge, took us on a beautiful hike to the isolated Chimpa Fortress...     We went on a two-day tour with Luis and Julio and it was amazing! Luis speaks very good English and knows a lot about the history and culture of is own country. At every question, he could easily give you a good answer and explainating. Julio was a very good driver. We felt very safe and he stopt at the best spots for pictures. This was one of the best trips during our stay in Peru. We highly recommend this tour guide!
