Our short walks in the Colca Valley are perfect for those who want to have a physical activity that doesn’t require much effort while exploring the beautiful Valley natural scenery.

These short walks also allow you to continue with your acclimatization to the high altitude in case your trip continues to cities such as Puno or trekking activities at high altitude such as the Inca Trail; climb the Misti or Chachani volcanoes, etc.

We have prepared two beautiful paths to enjoy the valley:

  • Duration: 3 ½ hrs.

    On this walk we pass through two archaeological sites; Yuracaca and San Antonio. We will observe various types of plants, shrubs and cactuses and have beautiful views of Yanque town until we arrive at Uyo Uyo.

  • Duration: 2 ½ to 3 hrs.

    In this walk we will appreciate a small Canyon and observe a colorful variety of plants, shrubs, cactuses and birds; with some luck we might even see the “Giant hummingbird”. At the end of the tour we will stop by La Calera hot springs to enjoy a bath.

  • Take a fruit or chocolate for the walk.
  • Sun glasses and Sun Protector.

    We had a fun and educational private Colca Valley tour and road trips with Ramiro (guide) and Herbert (driver) from Giardino Tours. They picked us up from the Arequipa airport, took us to our accommodations at Colca Lodge, took us on a beautiful hike to the isolated Chimpa Fortress...     We went on a two-day tour with Luis and Julio and it was amazing! Luis speaks very good English and knows a lot about the history and culture of is own country. At every question, he could easily give you a good answer and explainating. Julio was a very good driver. We felt very safe and he stopt at the best spots for pictures. This was one of the best trips during our stay in Peru. We highly recommend this tour guide!
