PALCCOYO MOUNTAIN
For those seeking an experience off the main path, the Choquequirao Trek 4 days is the ideal getaway. You’ll pass through some of Peru’s most breathtaking landscapes on this walk and get to explore little-known Inca sites. It’s understandable why the Choquequirao Trek has been dubbed the “Twin Sister of Machu Picchu”. This tour is ideal for those looking for an adventure off the beaten path and who want to explore uncharted territory.
An additional advantage is that this beautiful circuit does not require a demanding level of physical fitness, even considering the altitude.

Itinerary
Hotel pickup and a 3-hour drive to the starting point of our hike. Along the way, we will enjoy the journey, passing herds of alpacas and llamas, as well as a spectacular view of Ausangate Mountain.
We arrive at the trailhead and begin our hike, taking in the beautiful scenery (an uphill walk of approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour) to reach the highest point of our trip (5,000 meters above sea level) – the Palccoyo Viewpoint. From this spot, we will have breathtaking views of the colorful rock formations and hills, displaying distinctive shades of brown, blue, yellow, red, and more—giving it the name “Rainbow Mountain.”
After enjoying free time for photos and appreciating the natural landscape, we begin our descent and hike back.
We arrive at the community, where we will have time for lunch. After lunch, we start our return journey to the city of Cusco. Following a 3-hour drive, we arrive in Cusco.
Transportation will drop you off at your hotel (approximately 5:00 pm).
