6:30 AM – Depart from Puno and head north across the stunning Altiplano. Our first stop is Lampa, the ‘Pink town,’ where you’ll explore its colonial cathedral, mysterious catacombs, and a replica of Michelangelo’s Pietà.

Next, we journey to Tinajani Canyon, a breathtaking natural wonder filled with massive rock formations shaped by centuries of erosion. Here, we’ll take a guided interpretive walk to truly appreciate the landscape.

Along the way, we’ll pause at Abra La Raya (4,335 m), the highest point on the route between Puno and Cusco, offering spectacular views of the snow-capped Chimboya and the source of the Vilcanota River.

Finally, we arrive in Sicuani (arrival about 19:00pm) for an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel with breakfast included.

Overnight in Hotel Category 3*.

05:30 AM – Depart early to the spectacular Pallay Punchu Mountain, famous for its vibrant, multicolored rock formations that resemble traditional Andean textiles. Its stunning stripes, shaped over millions of years by mineral-rich sediments and erosion, offer breathtaking views of the surrounding highlands—a perfect spot for photos and to experience the natural beauty of the Andes.

Next, we visit the Inca Bridge of Qeswachaca, the last remaining hanging bridge made of plant fibers, rebuilt each year using ancient traditions passed down for generations. We then continue to Raqchi, home to the majestic Temple of Wiracocha, also known as the ‘Inca Parthenon.’ This 15th-century complex features an enormous stone and adobe temple rising 14 meters high, circular storehouses (colcas), ceremonial areas, priestly residences, and ritual baths, reflecting the advanced engineering and organization of the Inca Empire. Raqchi remains one of the most fascinating sites in the Andean corridor, where visitors can truly appreciate the grandeur of Inca architecture and civilization.

Before arriving in Cusco, we stop at the Church of San Pedro Apóstol in Andahuaylillas, known as the ‘Sistine Chapel of the Americas.’ Its simple exterior hides a spectacular interior, filled with Baroque murals, gilded altarpieces, and a coffered Mudejar-style ceiling. Among its highlights is the mural ‘The Road to Heaven and Hell,’ a powerful symbolic depiction of life’s paths, making Andahuaylillas an unforgettable cultural experience.

Giardino was recommended by a friend, and even though I had booked some hotels on my own, they managed to work around it, and provide us a wonderful experience from Paracas, Nazca, Ica, Huacachina to Puno. The guide Luis Angel was very knowledgeable, answered every question, and went over and beyond his duties to make the tour an unforgettable time in Perú.

We had a fun and educational private Colca Valley tour and road trips with Ramiro (guide) and Herbert (driver) from Giardino Tours. They picked us up from the Arequipa airport, took us to our accommodations at Colca Lodge, took us on a beautiful hike to the isolated Chimpa Fortress... We are glad the agency we engaged to plan our Peru adventure chose Giardino Tours for this part of the trip!

We traveled in Peru with having all of our trip booked through the Giardino travel agency. Karla helped us with the planning and booked the trip, the individual tours and our flights. The price for the tour overall was very reasonable... The guides were fantastic and were the best part about doing these tours. They were knowledgeable and had some of the best recommendations for us to do
