A private tour designed for travelers seeking authentic and deeply cultural experiences, exploring one of the most fascinating historical corridors in southern Peru.
Unlike traditional tourist buses, this tour allows for more time at each stop and includes additional visits, such as in Huaro, where visitors can explore the Church of San Juan Bautista, a remarkable example of Andean Baroque featuring murals, gilded altarpieces, and local handicrafts, while enjoying the scenic landscapes of the Vilcanota River valley.

Approximate duration: 12 to 13 hours.

Tour / Cultural

  • Pukará Lithic Museum, with pre-Inca archaeological collections that showcase the life of ancient highland cultures.
  • Abra La Raya (4,335 m), the highest point of the route, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks and the Andean plateau.
  • Raqchi, one of the most important archaeological sites in southern Peru, home to the majestic Temple of Wiracocha, a 14-meter-high building made of stone and adobe. Raqchi also features circular storehouses (colcas), ceremonial areas, priestly residences, and ritual baths, reflecting the sophisticated Inca planning and architecture.
  • Church of San Pedro Apóstol in Andahuaylillas, known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas.” Its unassuming façade contrasts with a spectacular interior, filled with Baroque murals, gilded altarpieces, and a Mudéjar-style coffered ceiling. Highlights include the mural of the “Road to Heaven and Hell”, as well as works by Luis de Riaño and the Cusco School, making Andahuaylillas an essential stop on the Andean Corridor.

Our excursion combines history, art, living traditions, and spectacular Andean landscapes, offering a complete, personalized, and enriching cultural experience, ideal for travelers who want to make the most of each stop and discover the richness of southern Peru at their own pace.

Giardino was recommended by a friend, and even though I had booked some hotels on my own, they managed to work around it, and provide us a wonderful experience from Paracas, Nazca, Ica, Huacachina to Puno. The guide Luis Angel was very knowledgeable, answered every question, and went over and beyond his duties to make the tour an unforgettable time in Perú.

We had a fun and educational private Colca Valley tour and road trips with Ramiro (guide) and Herbert (driver) from Giardino Tours. They picked us up from the Arequipa airport, took us to our accommodations at Colca Lodge, took us on a beautiful hike to the isolated Chimpa Fortress... We are glad the agency we engaged to plan our Peru adventure chose Giardino Tours for this part of the trip!

We traveled in Peru with having all of our trip booked through the Giardino travel agency. Karla helped us with the planning and booked the trip, the individual tours and our flights. The price for the tour overall was very reasonable... The guides were fantastic and were the best part about doing these tours. They were knowledgeable and had some of the best recommendations for us to do
