We will pick up you from your hotel and drive from Cusco to the Moray Archaeological Complex, also known as the “Green house of the Incas”. On this tour, you’ll explore the fascinating sequence of circular Inca terraces believed to have been used by the Incas to experiment with their crops and research growing conditions for different types of crops.

After this visit we will keep forwards to the complex of Maras, the salineras, where a salt water spring gushes forth from these high altitude mountains and tumbles down the mountainside into individual evaporation chambers which have been fully operational in bringing the people of the highlands salt until today. Consisting of more than 3,000 natural hillside salt pools, the mines are quite a spectacular sight to see in person.

Next we will visit the traditional town of Chinchero, a beautiful weavers’ town that is home to a cultural center that helps keep Peru’s weaving traditions alive. Chinchero is a typical Andean town at high altitude and is considered the mythical birthplace of the rainbow for the frequency in which this meteorological phenomenon is observed.

After the visit we will return to Cusco and drive you to your hotel.

Be sure to pack:  Reusable bottle of water, rain jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera, and some cash to buy souvenirs.
