Our trek is an incredible ascent to an active volcano; the Misti, located in our city Arequipa. To climb this volcano, no technical preparation is needed as it is a stratum volcano composed of ashes and lava.

Our Trekking to the Misti volcano is practically more a hiking in “high altitude” and the big difficulty in the tour are the ashes and the sand of the route that together with the high altitude make our ascent much more difficult. The Misti volcano is considered one of the 10 potentially active volcanoes in this part of the Andes mountain range and its summit reaches a height of 5822 meters above sea level.

*It is important that you consider that you’ll require a progressive acclimatization to the high altitude and very good physical condition before this trek.

    We had a fun and educational private Colca Valley tour and road trips with Ramiro (guide) and Herbert (driver) from Giardino Tours. They picked us up from the Arequipa airport, took us to our accommodations at Colca Lodge, took us on a beautiful hike to the isolated Chimpa Fortress...     We went on a two-day tour with Luis and Julio and it was amazing! Luis speaks very good English and knows a lot about the history and culture of is own country. At every question, he could easily give you a good answer and explainating. Julio was a very good driver. We felt very safe and he stopt at the best spots for pictures. This was one of the best trips during our stay in Peru. We highly recommend this tour guide!
