On March 17, 2024, the seventh Queñua Planting Day was held, organized by the civil association “One Tree, One Life” [1A 1V), which seeks to reforest devastated areas around the city of Arequipa. This time the activity took place on the slopes of the Chachani volcano.

Giardino Tours, together with other volunteers, participated in the planting of 900 trees in the degraded areas. Our agency contributed 400 Queñua seedlings. 

The Queñual, quinual or quewiña (from the Quechua qiwiña) is one of the few forest species most resistant to cold in the world, and among other properties it captures water from the environment, increases the amount of rain, controls erosion and generates microclimates.
